Centering Prayer

Centering Prayer

Centering Prayer is a method of praying that prepares us to be silent in order to feel the movement of God in our hearts and souls. It is a time when we seek to let go of our concerns, our busyness, and our anxieties. Rather than using words for praying, we open ourselves to a silence of nothingness, as Father Thomas Keating might say.

To prepare for this contemplative silence we begin by listening to a quotation, poem, or scripture reading to help us center ourselves. Some of us may share how our heart responds to the reading. We then enter into 20 minutes of silence.

Centering Prayer meets in the Fellowship Hall on Thursdays at 4:00 pm. If you have an interest, please contact David (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
