Centering Prayer

Centering Prayer

Centering prayer will continue to meet through the summer. We gather each Thursday at 4:00 in our Fellowship Hall, the modular building behind the main church.

Centering Prayer is a method of praying that prepares us to be silent in order to feel the movement of God in our hearts and souls. It is a time when we seek to let go of our concerns, our busyness, and our anxieties. Rather than using words for praying, we open ourselves to a silence of nothingness, as Father Thomas Keating might say.  We begin our sessions with reflections on a reading we have done during the week.
